7th grade -- Earth Science

My second blog that I chose from the list of K-12 blogs was:
7th Grade Earth Science
http://bsds7thscience.blogspot.com/. This blog is used in concert with the classroom because it has trivia questions and videos about topics that were discussed in class. Students can use this blog to assist them in finding reference and generally useful websites. The audience for this blog is for seventh grade students. The purpose of the blog is assist students in learning about earth science. This blog is still is use because there are postings from August to October 20, 2008. These postings archive topics pertaining to earth science. I think that this tool is beneficial, but I think that this blog could be a little more organized in its setup. This tool has potential in the classroom because students can research information, classroom notes, and trivia questions that can assist students as a whole class or individuals in understanding earth science topics.

Yes, I do agree that this blog could be beneficial in the classroom. However, the organization of it all could be a little neater. The students in the 7th grade could benefit from this blog by helping them find information and research websites for Earth Science. This blog is still in use and is a great addition to the classroom as a whole.

I enjoy blogs that include videos and pictures because the blog is usually meant for the students and they are not going to log on if the blog is boring. This blog seemed to be a useful resource for students, its always helpful when the teacher gathers all the useful websites together for you.

I agree!! The blog needs to be interesting in order to catch the students attention. I even think that the setup of a blog page should be interesting. The organization of the page needs to be something that will automatically catch the students attention. Even if it means using bright colors, or sectioning the information. For example, the videos were a great idea I think. The picture definitely could grasp a student's attention also.

Like i mentioned in my post i think blogging benefits older children. However, it if it isn't organized it could be a disaster. i think it would be more beneficial to the older studnet because it does help them to find research and websites for their class. Overall i think it is a geat tool, i don't think i would use it because of time issue but i certainly give propss to those that use it.
